چکیده

This paper presents a multi-agent system called GAIN (Grid Agent Infrastructure), which can be used for the development of flexible agent-based Grid systems. The system supports users both in the development and execution of Grid applications. In particular, GAIN allows the definition of workflow applications by composing different tasks made available by the Grid nodes. Furthermore, it follows the different phases of the execution of the workflow providing transparent allocation and re-allocation of the tasks on the different nodes of the Grid. A first prototype of the system has been realized by using the JADE agent development software and it has been tested in lab trials involving a network of different JADE platforms. In these trials, tasks provided both by the agents of the system and by external legacy software systems have been composed. Copyright c © 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Flexible Grid Workflows Using TÆMS

Grid computing tasks are often broken down into multiple subtasks and connected using a directed acyclic graph (DAG) to form a grid workflow. If we assume a dynamic market-based environment with multiple virtual organizations competing to provide grid computing resources, it becomes apparent that a static mapping of these resources to the workflow will produce suboptimal results. Furthermore, t...

IoT Based Load Management of a Micro-Grid Using Arduino and HMAS

This paper aims to establish an Arduino and IoT-based Hierarchical Multi-Agent System (HMAS) for management of loads’ side with incentive approach in a micro-grid. In this study, the performance of the proposed algorithm in a micro-grid has been verified. The micro-grid contains a battery energy storage system (BESS) and different types of loads known as residential consumer (RC), commercial co...

Low Voltage Ride-Through Capability Improvement of Doubly Fed Induction Generator using DVR and SMES

Abstract: With the growth of communities and the increasing need for electricity, and because of the many benefits of renewable energy sources, the wind turbine has become a completely commercial and inevitable process, with increasing penetration into the electricity grid. Distribution networks, on the other hand, are subject to fault that cause power fluctuations and outflow of wind units. In...

Building Next Generation Service-Oriented Architectures using Argumentation Agents

Motivated by the increased bioinformatics service-based offering on the Grid, we envisage a new model for programming the Grid at a semantic, knowledge-based level of abstraction through the use of argumentative agent technology. In this setting, agents are associated with roles of service requestors, service providers and brokers. This new model provides an enhanced service composition model f...

Dynamic Workflows for Grid Applications

In the Grid computing community, there are several approaches to execute not only single tasks on single Grid resources but also to support workflow schemes that enable the composition and execution of complex Grid applications. The most commonly used workflow model for this purpose is the Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG). Within the establishment of the Fraunhofer Resource Grid, we developed a Gri...
